Magney, David [1].

California Local Floras Project.

Local floras are a necessary tool to understand the flora of a given area and to help conserve the botanical resources of that area. Currently, of the 58 counties in California, only 14 have complete, published county floras. While there are many more published floras for sub-county areas, a few California counties lack any published floras at all. To remedy this, the California Native Plant Society, Special Projects Program, has established a Local Floras Committee with dedicated staff to guide and facilitate the development and publication of digital floras for all 58 California counties by 2035, and make those floras available free in digital format.
