A phylogeographic study of Grindelia ciliata using RADseq data.

Grindelia ciliata (Asteraceae: Astereae) is a fall-flowering annual from the southern Great Plains. Unlike most other members of the genus Grindelia (commonly known as gumweeds), G. ciliata keeps the resins it produces inside its leaves instead of secreting them, so it lacks the characteristic sticky leaves and involucres of the rest of the genus. RADseq data were collected from 671 individuals from 135 sites from throughout the range of the species to examine general phylogeographic patterns and to test for loci under selection from drought, as there is a strong drought gradient across the range of the species.
