Phylogenomics and biogeography of the Coffeeae alliance (Rubiaceae) with an emphasis on Tricalysia.

The Coffeeae alliance (Rubiaceae subfamily Cinchonoideae) is a large and diverse group of plants consisting of ~10 tribes, inter alliance Coffeeae, Gardenieae and Pavetteae, comprising some 100 genera and distributed across the Neotropics and Paleotropics. Phylogenetic relationships in the Coffeeae alliance have been investigated with plastid data but have yet to be the subject of nuclear based phylogenomic analyses. Here, we present results that combine Angiosperm353 data from our focal group Tricalysia with publicly available Angiosperm353 data spanning the Coffeeae alliance. We filtered the dataset to be able to perform divergence time estimation using BEAST2, providing a temporal context for comparative analyses in the clade. We also performed biogeographic analyses in RevBayes to investigate the spread of Tricalysia across the Paleotropics.
